-Dinner for two-

3 Months & Counting

photo 1 (1)

So as part of this whole ‘Drew having a job and making money’ & being together for 3 months he wanted to spoil me… but I think he wanted to spoil himself as well (and who could blame him?).  He has a new job and has been working very hard all summer and I was over the moon excited when he told me we were going out for a fancy dinner date. I went and bought a simple black dress, threw on a floral covering top over and slipped on some new heels that I spent all week trying to break in. I got this new (& pretty cheap -only 20 bucks plus free shipping!) heels from K-Mart, of all places! I tried this new strappy style because when we were pretending to be millionaires in all of the stores at the Palm Springs Outlets I found out he has a weird obsession and liking for this style. So I figure why not? But anyone who knows me… knows I really do not wear heels often. So I dedicated 20-30 minutes almost every single morning and night to practicing in my heels… which probably did save me from an embarrassing evening. I only tripped once! And it was on a super bumpy part of a cross walk at Cannery Row (basically, it was totally excusable!) Luckily for me, before even getting in the car and leaving his apartment complex Drew almost ate shit down the stairs… which just made me feel a little more confident seeing as he was not in heels.

We ate at Chart House in Monterey, Ca. The best part was that he kept it a surprise up until the moment we drove past it. I was honestly so excited once I knew where we would be going. I have had friends and family rave about how great of a place it was, but have never been myself. And I LOVED IT!!! I think we may have both felt like a billion dollars. Drew was dressed to impress 20 times more then me! He wore a suit, french cuff shirt, tie and dress shoes (hair slicked back, of course). And oh my, did he looked so freaking handsome! I guess you could say he cleans up pretty nicely!

Yesterday I indulged in a little retail therapy, much needed! I have really been feeling the need to splurge a little. Besides my hardcore money spending during the Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale (post coming in the near future) I really haven’t bought to many things for myself this summer. Most of my money and time have been spent either working, driving, eating, redbox movies and paying off tickets and car payments. So yesterday after having a really really great lunch with my grandpa I decided to go look for a few things for this trip I am ~hopefully~ taking soon, and just for some fun looked for some thrift store finds. I am honestly so happy with everything I found!

What do you think about my finds? What are you favorite thrift store finds?

Make-Up Talk: [{Wash, Spray, Make-Up, and Spray again… Then you are ready to head out the door.}]

[{I am all about simple when it comes to both doing and applying make-up. Sometimes that can be a pro in my prep time to get ready for my day, but often times my powder foundation is melting off … Continue reading

Challenge #1 (1/6/2013)

What did I learn today?

Thats old friends are ‘old’ friends for a reason. Make new ones.

What made me proud today?

My come ups at the Goodwill today! 2 jackets for less then $13! One really nice cold weather one and one 90s like wind breaker! Excited to sport both of them this winter to spring seasons!

What am I looking forward to tomorrow?

Waking up tomorrow morning to a new day!

Sins
By: Megan Harkins-Motnoya

Judge me for my sins,
Sure.

But,
Where does that put you?

Looking to my past,
While I look to my future.

Don’t get stuck in the sand
As I run through the years.

With that,
Judge me for my sins,
Sure.

But,
Where does that put you?

A new posting begins

“Letters to you”

is going to be a serious of posts written in letter formats to people who will probably never see them. I will not label who they are to, but rather the character they are intended for!
